Maple Leaf Diner: Reviews & Ratings
It was really good. I got the I got the Irish corn beef skillet. It was really good high protein and very light and my buddy got the chicken waffle bacon it looked incredible. If you ask them for real maple syrup, they will provide to you. The atmosphere was great and you can tell the food here is really good. They’ve been on the Food Network before and featured a lot of times this place was great too because they were open at 7 AM on a Sunday where we could go and watch the gold medal USA versus hockey game and it was a really great atmosphere to do so.
Family and I wanted to try out a new brunch spot and happy we did. Full blown Canadian decor all over, with plenty of seating. Menu is massive, so many options. I got an omelette and my wife got chicken bacon and waffles, which came with cream puffs on top. The omelette was solid but the house potatoes on the side stole the show. Seasoned so well with some sort of Cajun/seasoning salt, they were fantastic. Coffee was solid and service was great. Will definitely be coming back.
Before we left this place, my boyfriend and I said to each other, "this is one of those places you rate 5 stars without a question". The service was so fast our poutine appetizer was still steaming by the time we got our main breakfast. Our server was attentive while also giving us plenty of privacy for our date. Everything was cooked to perfection and extremely flavorful. The poutine was genuinely the best we've ever had. The hot chocolate portion sizing was VERY generous, even with the whipped cream, and absolutely to die for! This was a fantastic place for our date and we can't wait to come back! The only constructive criticism we really have is that the stuffed cookie could use some more stuffing, as we found the center a bit lacking in that regard (even though the cookie overall WAS delicious).
Start to finish, from service to the food quality, Maple Leaf Diner is a solid dining option. As a family of four who likes to travel and enjoy local spots, we all agreed MLD is to a quality option in Dallas especially the North Dallas area. The food came out fresh and in good sized portions. My wife and son had variations of eggs Benedict, one with Lox and the other with Canadian bacon. Both of them agreed it was delicious. I had the corned beef skillet that is made with home potatoes, peppers, corned beef and egg. Also delicious. My daughter kept it simple with French toast and bacon with a hot chocolate. Our server was attentive but not over bearing. The atmosphere is chill and is Canada themed. The prices match the portions so if that is a concern sharing a plate would be an option. As I said, there is plenty of food so if you do that route you would probably still be plenty full. I will definitely visit again next time I'm in town.
Only been here once, so I can only comment on one dish, but it was great. Had the chicken fried steak poutine. It was excellent, but beware - it's absolutely massive. I could only eat about 40% of it and had to box the rest. Attached pic doesn't really show how much food is on that plate/bowl. The price was a steal for the portion size. Good service. Clean bathroom. Very busy place.
Been meaning to check this place out for years. It did not disappoint. The Chicken Fried Steak Poutin Fries were huge and delicious. Coffee was standard diner coffee, which there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Staff was friendly. I came at about 10:30 am on a weekday and there were plenty of people there, so clearly a popular spot. This Canadian diner did not disappoint.
We went here after a memorial service. The food was good and service was great for a gloomy day. We had the onion rings, strawberry shortcake soda, drunken mocha, mimosa, and the chicken fried chicken! We actually split the plate it was so much food! The drinks were their Valentine’s special!
My husband and I came for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. The wait time a little over an hour but we decided to wait. We had been wanting to come and since it was out anniversary, we wanted to try it out. I absolutely loved it! The decor inside is cute. They have a pretty big menu options, I got the famous chicken, bacon & waffles and it was amazing! Presentation was amazing! I love the combination of the chicken and the sweetness of the maple syrup. Their coffee was great too! My husband and I love strong coffee and this one was perfect for us! Service was amazing too! We will definitely be coming back!
